Text Box: WISCONSIN AMATEUR RADIO CLUB MINUTES FOR THE MEETING OF JANUARY 27, 2010 At 7:30 pm President Phil KC9CI welcomed the 4 guests. There were 17 members present. Introductions were made. Two of our guests became members. They are Roger Wolverton K9DIB and Jeff Meyer AA9E. Bill WA9MXQ presented the ARRL mentor program, DISCOVER THE MAGIC OF HF RADIO. There was considerable discussion and sharing of information among the audience. BUDGET—BillWA9MXQ presented 2010 Proposal fro the Bard for member discussion and action. a) Germantown Village—Matt CK9NNJ moved, Pancho KA9OFA seconded and the members voted a commercial antenna should be considered with information brought to the membership for action by the March 2010 meeting. The cost will likely rise above the estimate presented at the January meeting ($625). b) Field Day Antenna—Dave WOAH moved, Pancho KA9OFA seconded and the members approved a $20 plus man lift expenditure for hardware installation. c) Digital Backbone Project—Not funded. There was no discussion. d) Internet Domain costs—Nels WA9JOB moved, Russ KC9PIF seconded and the members approved the $50.oo expenditure to retain two domain sites with Russ KC9PIF to be the contact. e) Field Day Expense—The expense of food and beverages for two lunches and one dinner have reached $340.00 plus $150.00 for the two day site rental. The May Circle B swap fest income is not expected to support this dollar amount in the future. Ideas from the members were: food contribution; donation jar; pot luck; raise dues; WiARC buy the meat for the dier; use cookie money, use the Club portion of ticket drawing money. Matt KC9NNJ moved, Pancho seconded, and the members voted to bring more ideas to the February meeting for action. President Phil KC9CI called the general business meeting to order at 8:40 pm. The minutes were not read as they were sent with the newsletter “regular meeting announcement President Phil KC9CI asked for a motion to approve the minutes of the November 25 2010 meeting. Terry KA9RFM moved, and John K9WUF seconded and the members voted to approve those regular meting minutes. Treasurer Neal WA9WYI reported the bank balance and cash on hand. Terry KA9RFM moved, Pancho seconded and the members voted to accept. OLD BUSINESS—TECH REPORT, none. —-WEB SITE, Russ KC9PIF asked for articles to post. —- Phil KC9CI Reported the Germantown Police Department appreciated the Christmas Cookies. NEW BUSINESS — OFFICERS ELECTION—Phil KC9CI stated that the present officers wish to be re elected. Phil asked for additional nominations. None were made. Jon KB9RHZ moved, Nels WA9JOB seconded the present officers to be re elected and the members approved. —-Election of one Board member. Matt KC9NNJ nominated Randy KC9KPV, Lou seconded. Russ KC9PIF nominated Dave WOAH, Ed KC9RLJ seconded. The members elected Randy KC9KPV for a 3 year term. Mail —-notice of a swap fest.
